What surprised me was how faith so many versions of the tales have been to this book. To start with this book was originally written in 1956 and this is a faithful reproduction on that edition. Well this book had a few surprises for me. Well I will admit that the Adventures of Robin Hood is one of those tales everyone (including me) seems to know. Its a case of picking one up when I see the price is right. This is part of the Everyman Children's Classics series which I have been slowly collecting for a number of years. Quest 17: read a book you've been putting off but i will NEVER - and i mean NEVER - give up on a book with a cover like this one. I tried reading this once many years ago and failed. And it encourages socialism in the youth.īottom line: I will keep this on my shelves to gaze at the cover and for no other reason!Įverybody needs some old timey communist hijinks, from time to time This is not the best Robin Hood rendition (that's Disney's area) and Robin Hood is not the best children's classic (it's not even cracking my top 10).īut it's okay.
